It’s been said that I have a superpower: the ability to help organizations effectively engage people. My secret? Asking “Why?” and always trying to get to the heart of the matter. It’s expertise I’ve shared with Fortune 100 & 500 clients for more than a decade. All the while handling other super tasks: being a husband and dad to six incredible kids.
Not enough? Okay, so you’ve taken the red pill and want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Awesome! But “remember, all I’m offering is the truth, nothing more”.
Listen first, talk second: Listening is an art. It takes great discipline. I consider myself a thoughtful person and tend to listen before I speak. That’s because when I speak, I really have something to say. I’ve learned this from working with colleagues and business leaders, developing effective strategies for connecting with employees and consumers alike. So feel free to share…I’m listening.
Understanding builds bridges: It takes energy to understand someone or something. That’s why so few try. When we seek to understand, we build bridges. Bridges connect communities just like they connect people, and developing relationships is critical in life or any line of work you may find yourself in. So get busy building them.
Big picture thinking: Seeing the forest, before seeing the trees. When you’re working to accomplish a life goal or business goal, determining the route in advance is important. Road trips without a destination may be thrilling, but without a map, it’s going to make getting there a lot more challenging. You’ve been warned.
Power of the individual: We all have the ability to make a positive impact in our world. The question is, do we really believe it? For some of us, it may be impacting our family, being positive role models for our children. For others it may be leading in our communities, standing up for those who don’t have a voice. Where will your passion lead you?
Family man, inspired by faith: Family is my bedrock. They ground me, and if you were honest, they probably ground you too. Each day with them is an opportunity for me to look critically at how I can be a better person. My faith inspires me to see everyone as an individual, with a unique background and story to tell. You have an important part to play in this thing we call life. Here’s to living it to the fullest.
Well, there you have it. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello, and I look forward to listening to you!
